ATC JAM

Happy Sunday,

This week I wanted to share an ATC JAM I worked on with two others. I thought it came out super cute.

Laura from MA did the back ground, and inked the edges.
Brandi from LA did the fabric border, red star and green snowflake.
I finished the card off by adding the gingerbread girl & boy, North Pole brad, stamped the elf and colored him in and added the white dew drop. Now I will send Laura and Brandi one of the cards to complete the cycle.

JAMs are so much fun. You never know who will be sending you one to work on or what direction it will take once you pass it along (unless you are the one completing it).

Cloudy Sky

Happy Sunday,

Today I'm sharing a layout I made from pictures I took while sitting at my desk. I just thought the sky was so pretty with the clouds and the sun coming through the orange leaves.

Who Loves Ephemera Give-a-way

Happy Sunday,

The past few weeks have been very busy and I really have not spent much time crafting, however, I did make sure all my swap obligations were done and mailed.  With that said... I do not have a crafty project to share this week.

BUT>>>

I did put together a random bunch of ephemera to give-a-way. The mesh bag is 8" x 6" x 2" and jam packed with all kinds of stuff.

Here's a sneak peak...

To enter do the following two things...

1. Leave a comment stating what odd ball thing you hope to find in this bag.
2. Pick a number from 1 to 1000.

I will use random.org (on Sunday December 13th) to pick a winning number. The winner will be the person who comes closest to the winning number without going over.

If more than one person has the winning number the person who left the comment first will win.

Good Luck

CONTEST WILL CLOSE at 9:00am EST ON 12/13/15

9:16am I used random.org to pick the winning number...

And the winner is...

Yippee!! Hope there might be something beachy in there. My guess is 427

Congratulation Robin!!!!

Ornament Swap

Happy Sunday,

This week I wanted to share an ornament I decorated for an ornament swap.

I purchased the wood cutout and started adding my touches. First I put some bling at the tip of the branches and at the end of each scroll. Then I added a few dew drops, charms and flowers. The flowers were white and I sprayed them with dylusions ink spray. I used stickles for the glittery spots and finished it off with a some bells and a ribbon. It's decorated on both sides just in case it sways around while it's hanging on the tree. I hope my swap partner likes it.

SweatShirt

Happy Sunday,

This week I want to share a shirt I just purchased. It hasn't come in yet but I'm really excited to get it. I bought mine as a sweatshirt in lime green but the saying is the same. I thought with the holidays coming up this might make a cute gift for one of your crafty friends or if you have a retreat coming up your group can each get a shirt. There are many different crafty saying on t-shirts to hoodies. I have attached the link to the website below in case you are interested.

I am not affiliated with this company and I do not receive anything for promoting them. I just like the idea of their crafty saying shirts.

Sunflower

Happy Sunday,

This week I wanted to play with my watercolor pencils. I drew the picture with a light brown and colored it in with the water color pencils. Then I used a water brush to color over an activate the pencil coloring. Added the quote from a stamp I had. I still think this looks more like a colored page than a water color page. Not sure what I did wrong, any ideas? Let me know if you have some tips to use water color pencils with a water brush.

Captain Cave Man

Happy Sunday,

I was cleaning and decluttering my craft room and came across this photo. I guess when I printed it years ago I was planning on doing something with it and never did. So I just quickly added it to a page rather than throw it out. Apparently my husband and the guys he works with likes to play jokes on each other. My husband went to his truck to come home from work and this was drawn on the window. To this day he still does not know who did it. I'm gonna guess it the guy who my hubby nailed his work bucket to the floor so he couldn't lift it up or it could have been the guy who my hubby put all kinds of pink girly stickers and kiddy puffy stickers on his work cart. Imagine pulling your cart around on a construction site and not knowing the stickers are there and getting all these looks from the other tradesman. Sometime I wish I could be a fly on the wall at these jobs.

Another Year Completed

Happy Sunday,

I'm really excited to share my post this week. I started a 12x12 album of my granddaughter that holds a 2.5 x 3.5 layout for each month. She was born on November 17, 2013 so I have the first two pages completed and I'm ready to start the third page and that will begin with her birthday picture. I try to get a picture that was taken as close to the 17th of each month as possible. It's fun to see all the changes in her over the last two years.

November 2013 - October 2014

November 2014 - October 2015

November 2015 - October 2016

Beautiful Sunny Day

Happy Sunday,

Today I am sharing a double page layout I did of some pictures I took in VT while on a little scrapbook getaway. My friend and I took a drive hoping to get some really good foliage pictures. Our pictures came out great but the foliage was just starting to change so we did not get it at peak. I still think the scenery is beautiful. This layout was done just using some papers from my stash and a few embellishments. I cut some of the pictures down and set them on top of other pictures. I had ten photos I wanted to fit on this two page layout and that was the best way I found to do it.

Everything Mary

Happy Sunday,

This week I had to share my new journal bag by Everything Mary. I can't believe after trying several different bags I finally found one that holds all my journaling supplies and is super easy to access the supples.

There are several styles of bags and are very reasonably priced. Wish I knew of this line before I purchased all of my other bags. I got mine from Amazon.

Lobster Bake

Happy Sunday,

Today I have another layout to share. This was our annual lobster bake. The crowd was a bit smaller this year but we had a great time anyway. The lobsters and steaks were delicious. I made cooler corn on the cob, baked potatoes, cole slaw, and I cheated with the clam chowder. I picked the clam chowder up at Stew Leonard's put it in the crock pot and everyone thought I made it. I did tell them where I got it. All their soups and chili's are very good. To end the meal we had apple pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Later that night we sat by the fire and had a few hot dogs. What a fire without hotdogs???? Our last guests left around 11:30pm. It was starting to get pretty chilly even with the fire going.

For this page I just lined the base paper with 4 6x6 patterned paper on an angle matted my photos and put them down. I had a lot of photos to fit on these two pages. I did some journaling on a journal card, and made the sign for the fire, The camp fire was made by cutting 3 identical cut out in the 3 colors and then off set them and pulled some of the flames forward to mix them up. I cut the logs out of patterned paper that was wood boards, glued them to the back and front of the flames. Then I added a bit of yellow around the edges of the flames to deepen the color just a bit. Filled in the empty space with washi tape. It's the washi with all different cameras. You can't really tell from the picture.

Blocks

Happy Sunday,

Today I'm sharing another layout of my granddaughter Brooklyn. I purchased two sets of building blocks one for her and one for my husband so they can each have a car that they build. Grandpa was working outside in the garage so Brooklyn had both cars she was building.

Again, I am using up my old paper stash. I punched some circles out with a paper punch in two sizes and then added the sticker letters that had circled layers.  It's titled "My Blocks", I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture.

4.58 Miles

Happy Sunday,

Today I want to share a layout I did of my daughter and son-in-law as they were taking a long walk around the reservoir. They have been doing these walks to strengthen her legs. I'm still using up my stash so I picked out some papers that would match with the picture. I used a tarring ruler to get the torn edges.

They walked 4.58 miles
 Burned 492 calories
Took 1:34:43 hours
Mins/Mile 20:39

She is pushing so hard to get back to normal. I wish I had her strength and determination.

Cupcake ATC

Happy Sunday,

This week I am sharing an ATC card I made. The theme was cupcakes and this was for a lottery at the Facebook Group Multifarious ATC's. The way this works is the host picks a theme and an end date. Whoever wants to participate makes an ATC card in that theme and posts a picture of the card they made. When the time is up, the host will choose a winner. The winner will send the host the card they made but will receive the cards from everyone who participated. The winner also gets to host the next lottery and pick the theme.

Here's the card I made...

I stamped the cupcakes and colored them with spectra noir pencils and cut them out of reg white cardstock. I used gelatos to color the background of the card, added the quote, added the washi tape with stars,  Then I glued on the cupcakes and added the stickles and perfect pearls. I think it's a fun and colorful card.

Dance Night

Happy Sunday,

This week I am sharing a layout I did of my daughter as she was heading for the dance studio for the first time since her accident. She was told by her doctor no dancing but she is not very good and being told no. Her time in rehab she was told you cant walk with out a walker, she said watch me and did. They tell her you can't climb stairs, she said watch me and she did. She refused to be told she couldn't do something. Her passion is ballroom dancing and I think that was what made her so determined to recover so quickly. I think she is pushing herself to hard and I tell her, but all I get from her is... if I don't push I won't get better. She only has two or her corartid arteries, two were severed in the accident and that could be what have cause the stokes she had. Fractured skull, broken ribs, broken sternum and damaged to her eyes. She like all stroke patients needed to learn how to do everything all over. It's still a process she is pushing really hard to achieve.

While she was still in ICU and before she even opened her eyes her leg was kicking around and her toes were pointed. They wanted to strap her down and we told them no. She was dancing and this was what was going to motivate her to get better. As long as she wasn't going to hurt herself let her kick. I really think her love for dancing had a lot to do with her recovery.

Here are two photos from two of her competitions.

Here's the layout I did of her. I snapped some pictures when she came over to pick up her dance sneakers. I know she couldn't keep herself from dancing but at least she took the sneaks and not the heels. That made me feel a little bit better.

The next day I asked if she had a good time and she said yes. She said she couldn't remember how to dance (because of her TBI) and will have to start off with the basics all over again. Maybe in time her dance routines will come back to her but for now basics will be just fine.

The other thing she really misses is her hair. They had to shave her head after the accident to put in drainage bolts and tubes (I'm not sure what the procedure was called). She keeps saying she wants her hair to hurry and grow back because she doesn't have dance hair anymore.

Just got to love her determination and stubbornness. I tell her she is stubborn just like her dad and she tells me " ok"  but I'm calling you the apple. She still has her quick comebacks even though she doesn't remember a lot of things.

Fun At The River

Happy Sunday,

This week I am sharing a double page layout of my son and granddaughter enjoying a day at the river. I love the expressions on her face. She has her tongue is sticking because it is so hard for her to walk in the water. I think it's just adorable. I used up some old papers, did my journaling with Souffle Gel Pens and the dragon flies and frog are wood pieces I picked up at Michaels in the wood section. I thought they worked really well with these water pictures.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Happiness

Happy Sunday,

Hope everyone had a fantastic week. It went by pretty fast for me but I was able to get a layout completed.

On Tuesday my daughter stopped by and so did my son with my granddaughter. It's not to often that I get all three of them in the same place at the same time so this was a real treat for me.

I'm on a mission to use up all my old stash so I have no idea of the names and brands. I'm just pulling pieces of this and that that I like and going with it.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Sleeping Beauty

Happy Sunday!

This week I'm sharing a quick scrapbook page of my granddaughter. what kid doesn't fall asleep in the car? I know mine used to all the time. But when we got home they somehow got their second wind. I wonder what's going to happen when she gets home.

I found this paper from my stash that matched with her clothing, had the flower pack from the dollar bin I think from AC Moore, paper strips came from a 2x12 paper pack and the journal sheet came from a book that came with a scrapbook kit I got when our local scrapbook store was going out of business.

Saratoga Races

Happy Sunday,

My daughter is home! YEAH!!! She still has months, maybe even years of therapy but she is home and much more comfortable. With that said, I want to thank everyone for all the well wishes and prayers you have been sending. I think they have made a tremendous impact on her recovery.

I went on a bus trip August 12th to Saratoga for the day. I didn't bring a camera or anything but I did have my phone with me so I used that to take some pictures. Nothing spectacular, but enough for me to make a scrapbook layout.

Just a quick layout so save my memorabilia. There were 10 races with race one being cancelled. I won 4 of the nine I bet on. Still lost for the day but I had a great time. I plan on purchasing tickets for next year as well.

RAK

Happy Sunday,

For my post this week I would like to show you some Happy Mail I received.

I came home from visiting my daughter at the hospital the other night and there was a package addressed to me. I knew I have not done any shopping online since her accident so I was very curious as to what it was. I thought maybe my husband purchased something. But once I opened it, it was a RAK from Joan Borgelt. Joan's gift put a huge smile on my face. I actually sat down opened up the packages and looked through all the little pieces. Now I'm excited to start using some of this ephemera.

I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Joan for her kindness. Because of this little RAK, I think  I also got the little nudge I needed to get back into my regular routine.

I did use the eye chart and eye glasses that was part of the ephemera in my journal page that night. Tammy actually had a procedure on her eyes for the second time that day and it was successful, so I thought that would be appropriate to put in there.

THANKS AGAIN JOAN!!!

Whale Tale

Good Morning,

I missed my Sunday post this week. Guess I had a lot going on. I did have a relaxing Saturday. I took a bus trip and went on a whale watch. We had perfect weather and the water wasn't to choppy. The boat was a high speed catamaran which helps break some of the choppy water. It was a bit over crowded and hard to get a good spot next to the rail. I did squeeze in a bit and got a few decent shots. There were two whales we were following and they did breach but I didn't get to see that. One of the drawbacks of being short. After the whale watch we made a quick stop at Quincy Market. We had about two and a half hours to spend there. It was hot being off the water. So we decided to find a restaurant and go sit down and have something to eat. It's a good thing we sat down when we did because by the time we were done eating we only had ten minutes to spare to get back to the bus.

Another Week

Happy Sunday,

Another week of up and downs for me. I know my daughter is progressing nicely but I'm having a very difficult time dealing with the fact she has such a long hard journey a head and I can't do any of it for her. This is hers to do alone. She is amazing everyone with what she is able to accomplish. She can stand and pivot to her chair with the help of two people. One on each side of her. She is eating pureed foods and able to drink with think it. They were talking about having her trake removed Monday morning as long as there were no incidents over the weekend. The feeding tube will remain as she is not eating very much of the pureed foods and they are still giving her the ensosure (I think that's what it's called) through her feeding tube for 12 hours along with protein and her meds. Until she can eat enough on her own to get all the nutrients she needs. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes for her. They are truly making a difference.

This week I did force myself to do some coloring. So I colored the following page from "Color Beautiful Patterns & Designs" I used Crayola Twistables Color Pencils. They are no Spectra Noir Pencils but they do not need to be sharpened and easy to use.

I have faithfully written in my Fauxbonichi journal everyday since April 15th when I started it. I also completed two sets of JAMs. I had them since the end of June and told myself it's not fair to keep them any longer. The other two sets I received I will pass on for someone else to finish. I'm not quite ready to get back into doing them just yet.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week and please continue to send prayers.

Something to Relax

Happy Sunday,

I still do not have any crafty projects to share this week but I hoping to  get the crafty bug back. I purchased some adult coloring books to help me relax. I haven't colored in them yet but I think I will pretty soon. I need to do something to keep me occupied but yet I don't feel like doing anything. I thought maybe just coloring would help. These are the books I ordered.

My daughter is making very good progress. She has been moved to a rehab facility where now all the hard work begins. She is talking somewhat and we do understand what she is saying. It takes a lot of effort and energy for her to do so and she gets tired very easy. She still is in a lot of pain and through it all she is being such a trooper. I still feel so helpless that I can't do anything for her except hold her hand, cheer her on and be there when she needs me.

I still ask for continued prayers to help her stay strong and get through this next journey. Our family appreciates all the prayers coming her way and would like to thank everyone for their support.

The Power Of Prayer

Good Morning,

I would like to thank everyone who has been praying for my daughters recovery and ask that you continue to send more prayers her way. I feel "The Power Of Prayer" is truly helping her with this difficult journey.

I would also like to share an update on her progress.

She was moved from ICU to an ICU step down room today. We met with the team of doctors who have been amazed with her progress. They say she still has a long long road a head of her and cannot guarantee any outcomes, but with the progress they have seen so far they are very hopeful that she will continue to improve.

Thanks so much for the support you have shown, it is greatly appreciated.

Asking for a Favor

Good Morning,

This week I do not have a crafty project or any photos to share. I am just going to ask everyone for a favor and send my daughter Tammy a little prayer. She was in a very serious car accident and can use all the prayers and well wishes she can get.

Thanks

Flowers

Happy Sunday,

With the weather being so nice and me spending so much more time outside I haven't been doing a lot of crafty things.

So for my share this week, I took some pictures of the flowers that are blooming around my yard. I haven't seen any humming birds yet but I'm sure they will be coming.

Baby Boy Mini Star Themed Galaxy

Happy Sunday,

Today I am sharing a mini album I made as custom order. It's for a baby boy and had to be themed stars. They did not want the traditional cutesie papers so I made some gelli print backgrounds. I used the dylusions sprays and then coated with mod podge fixative. Then I added the stars with a stencil and acrylic paint. Because the back ground papers are so busy I chose to use a plain 4.5x6.5 base where they can add a full 4x6 picture. I faux stitched around the matte base and outlined the yellow stars. It's hard to see in this video. The book is set up to do a page each month. It started to look like a galaxy so I went with it.

Beautiful

Happy Sunday,

This week I am sharing a simple layout I did using pictures of our clematis and water iris. They bloomed so nice this year I had to take a picture of them. I went through my stash and found this scrapbook kit that I purchased for $1.00 when our local scrapbook store went out of business. The colors were perfect so I just threw the page together.

Colored Flames

Happy Sunday,

This week I am sharing a layout I created of our Saturday Night Fire.

Top layout...
Top left photo - Cody and I
Top right photo - Me, Jim & Dave
Bottom left - Dave and his marshmallow torch
Bottom middle - Me and my logo - The logo on the hoodie says " At The Comeau's Campfire Friends and Marshmallows Get Toasted At The Same Time" Comeau is my last name, I'm sure you figured that out.
Bottom Right -  Dave just relaxing
Bottom layout...
I purchased these fire packets that turn your flames colors. I got them from LTD Commodities. They came a 5pack for $4.95. We had every color of the rainbow in the flames. It was so cool. I'm going to have to pick some more of these up for next time. All the journaling was talking about the flames, where I purchased them and how to use them.

Two of a Kind

Happy Sunday,

Like father like daughter, I think that's how the saying goes. I guess my son is teaching my granddaughter early to have a love for cars. No he didn't get her the cute little Barbie car he had to get the sporty one that looked like his. Either way she loves it.

A visit to the Vineyards Mini Album

Happy Sunday,

Today I am sharing a 6x6 mini album in the works. It will be an ongoing project as I visit some of the CT Vineyards.  I wanted to make a small album of the Vineyards we go to and have a picture of the bottle of wine we bring home with us. I thought this would be the best way to do it.

The CT Wine Trail brochure has 25 vineyards listed. I figure I could cut that out each time we visit a vineyard and add it to my page. The brochure and receipts can go in the center of the pocket.

I still plan on adding more to the cover and things come to me.
