Thank You Card for Challenge #48 at CTO

Hi,
Here's a card I made for challenge #48 at Celebrate The Occasion's Blog. The challenge this week was to make a Thank You card and you had to use punches. If you would like to enter the challenge and link up your project here's the link
http://celebratetheoccasion.blogspot.com/

I used 3 border punches, 2 Martha Steward and 1 EK Success. The circle punches I can't remember what brand they are. The Thank You is from The Stamps of Life, the ribbon and jewels are from my stash.

Altered Art Journal

Hi,
Here's another page it did in my altered art journal. I love all the colors.
Materials I used....
Portfolio Oil Pastels
Hero Arts - Alphabet Letters
Big & Juicy Ink Pads - Foliage, Hydrangea and Waterfall
Mod Podge ( I have been calling this modge podge for the last two years LOL )
Yellow Typing Paper

The Mod Podge is not quite dry so I'm getting some glare in the picture.  I'm really having a lot of fun making these pages. No rules just do what I feel like at the moment.

Friendship Journal

Hello all my crafty buddies,

I was thinking about doing a friendship journal and was wondering if any of you would be interested in joining me. It would work basically like a tag or card swap but will be a altered journal page about yourself. Here’s how it would work…

Using a 5x7 piece of card stock score a 1 ½” margin down the left hand side of the card stock. This margin will be how you hold your book together. You can 3 hole punch, spiral bind, glue or whatever way you choose to do it. That 1 1/2" should leave you plenty of room.

Decorate the front side only with whatever you like to work with, stamping, painting, drawing, fabric, paper, mixed media, write a poem, tell a story etc. What ever you choose to do it must represent you and your style. It can be flat, 3 dimensional, textured or what ever.  If your a quilter or if you crochet make a small 5 x 5 square and attach it to the card stock. If you ccross stitch, needlepoint or felt pierce you can attach your to the cardstock as well. If your a jewelery maker you can add a piece that you made as well. It just has to be mounted on the 5x7 cardstock and represent your style of creativity as listed in the rules above.

On the back side you will do a journal page about yourself. Put your name, your blog, your likes, dislikes, interests, favorite vacation spots ect. Nothing to personal as you will be sharing your journal pages with others. ( We will limit the participants to 6 for this time around - that's you and five others )

You will make one journal page for each person who has signed up and one for yourself  and in return they will be making one for you.

Once you get all your journal pages you can then make yourself a front and back cover and put it together however you would like or you can just attache the pages with out a front and back cover.  I would like to keep adding more pages from additional swaps that I host or some that I might join, so  when I put mine together I will use something I can add more pages to like the binder rings or ribbon.

I think this is a great way to get to see in person everyones unique style, learn a little about each other, and have a really really cool book at the end.

If you are interested in participating please respond below.

I will close the date for signing up on Jan 31st.  I will then let everyone know how many participants we have so you know how many journal pages to make. (Max pages you will have to make is 6)

All journal pages should then be mailed to me no later than March 1st. Please send a large self addressed stamped envelope so I can send your journal pages back to you..

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hope you can participate!

Bridal Shower Invitations

Hi All,

Today I wanted to share the Bridal Invitations that Doreen, Robin and I worked on this afternoon. The theme of the shower is cupcakes and martini's. The wedding colors are orange (burnt orange), purple (deep plum) and green (deep lime green). The colors on the Bridal invitations are lighter than than the actual wedding colors. We attached the invitation, registry cards and the lets party note with a brad and fibers. We are very pleased on how they came out. Next strep is to address all the envelopes but that can wait till next week.

Tammy & Jason Casual Shots

Hi,

Here's the second double page layout of Tammy & Jason's engagement photos. I thought the papers were fun and matched their clothing pretty well.

Page 2 & 3 of Art Journal

Try not to laugh, oh, ok. I won't ask that of you. I laugh everytime I look at my masterpiece (hehehehe).
I'm not happy with page 2 but I really like the way page 3 came out. This was the first time I attempted to draw anything, usually I just doodle. I used acrylic paint for the base, torn music sheets, modge podge, and oil chalk crayons. After I finished I coated over the coloring with more modge podge to prevent smudging.

Tammy & Jason's Engagement Pictures Black & White

Hi Again,

I've been a bit busy crafting the last few days so I was able to post 3 things today.

This double page layout is of my daughter Tammy and her fiance Jason. These were the black and white photos that were taken. The one color picture is not the true color of the picture but it's not a sepia color either. Not really sure what color technique the photographer used but I liked the colors of the clothing. I chose my mattes to match them. I used Creative Memories paper that I had in my stash.

The next two double page layouts that I will be working on is the dress up photos and then the casual photos. I will post the layouts when they are finished.

Faces of Justin

Hi,

Here's a quick page I did with my nephews school pictures. The pictures are wallet size so a bit small. I wanted to make them stand out so I used a diffferent shape matte for a little depth. I love how busy the back ground paper is. It kinda makes your eyes focus on the subject.

Motorcycle Card

Hi,
Here's a card I made for my nephews birthday. I used the Fathers Day Cricut Cartridge. I added some sparkle with Stickles.

Sorry, the picture came out a little blurry.

1st Page of Altered Art Journal

Hey Guys,

I picked up this assignment book at a tag sale over the summer for 50 cents. It's approx 6" x12" maybe a tad bit larger. I really had no use for an assignment book but figured I would think of something to use it for. After watching some you tube videos on altered art journals, I thought I might give it a try. I also plan to write an inspirational quote on each page. I will post each page as I make them. I figure if I do 1 page per week I will have it finished in about 4 years.

Materials I used for this page...
  • acrylic paint - blue, yellow and orange
  • stickles glitter glue - orange and purple
  • modge podge
  • dotted strip ( I have no idea what that's called)
  • birds from the cricut cartridge floral embelished
  • scrap piece glittered paper
  • black sharpie marker

Tammy's Banner

Hello My Blogging Buddies,

We finished the banner flags for my daughters shower. They just have to be hung together. I think it came out really fun. Everything on the banner represents my daughter Tammy.

Valentines Card

I was in the mood to make a quick card. I used a cutout from my scrapbook program. I made a sheet of different cut outs and printed them with my printer. ( I also posted the sheet on my sidebar. If you want a copy just leave me your email address and I will email it to you.) I wanted to use green on this card to match the bears feet.  You can't really see but the green paper has been embossed with some hearts.

Hello,

Hope everyone had a spectacular weekend. I had a few of the girls over today to work on some projects. We were making a banner for my daughters shower. It's coming out really cool. So the blooper of the day was this shoe. The shoe was from the Cricut Cartridge "Tie The Knot" and we had it set to cut at 2 inches.  It was going to be applied to the banner we were making. Did we get good laugh when the cutting was done and it came out almost 12 inches. Not sure what we did wrong but it was pretty funny. Tammy said it's bigger than her real shoe size. No worries, I'm going to give this to my coworker Betsy, she loves her shoes and can use it to dress up a file folder.

Just wanted to share a sympathy card I made for a coworker who lost her husband after a long illness. I wanted a more masculine card in honor of him.
