The Joke Is On Me.

Hi Everyone, Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas.

Thought I might share a little story with you. I have 4 crock pots (slow cookers) in various sizes. QVC had one that I do not have it has a second dish that sets inside the bottom dish and it has two sections. I really like it,  so I bought it a few weeks ago.
My husband asked what I need another crock pot (slow cooker) for when I already had 4 of them. I told him you can never have to many. They always come in handy.
Before we were going to my in-laws to celebrate Christmas eve we exchange gifts with my kids first. So when my kids arrived and we started to exchange gifts I opened  the gift my son bought for me. It was a crock pot (slow cooker). I then opened the gift my daughter bought for me and it was a crock pot (slow cooker). So I'm thinking ok this is awkward but I say thank you and proceed to open my next gift. This one was from my husband. I start taring the paper back and NO WAY..... a double crock pot (slow cooker). Now I'm rolling on the floor laughing along with the kids and my husband. "The Joke Was On Me" He had called the two of them and told them to get me a crock pot (slow cooker) as a joke. They got me pretty good. How funny????
The kids actually got me and the hubby a 32" flat screen tv and my hubby got me the cricut expression. I also received some small little items, lotions, scrapbook stickers etc.
What a way to remember Christmas eve 2011 except with my new nickname Crock Pot Queen (Crack Pot Queen).

  2. Haha, hilarious recap! I can't wait to finally get my own crock pot next year when I get married and need to make meals! What brand do you recommend?

  3. Rachel, Any brand crock pot will work just fine. I prefer one that has a dial warm, low or high over the digital ones. And make sure you choose one that the dish removes from the base for easy cleaning. I have one that doesn't (it's one of my first ones and very old) but it's very hard to clean. I'm not even sure if they make ones without the removable dish anymore. Hope that helps.

  4. Lori, love it!! What a neat and fun Christmas Eve, too funny!

I have a magic crockpot that I just adore, our friends in MD came for a visit and brought a crock pot full of beef stew, (thinking they know I'm a horrible cook). I just loved her's it's oval and has pretty ivy on it. I said love your crockpot and she told me good it's your's I have a new one and was leaving this one here. I was in heaven and to make it better, it's magic, no matter what I cook in there it taste yummy!

Happy New Year! Hugs, Lori m

  5. That is a great story, too funny!
My husband was just making fun of me for having too many crock pots the other day. I have 5 of them, 2 of them are the old style non removeable crocks that are hand me downs from my mom.
I love that double crock you just got!
