1979 Sunline 13 1/2RD

We found a new project. After 10 years of not going camping I decided I wanted to start again. Because we had sold our pop-up about 10 years ago with all of our camping equipment we had to start from scratch.  I purchased a tent, air mattress, and a portable grill and off we went. Each time we camped this year it rained. I don't mind camping in the rain because we have a canopy with the screen so that works out ok. But setting up or taking down a tent in the rain is no fun. Not to mention you have to reset it up at home so it could dry out. This is where my little project comes in. We will have a spot to sleep that does not have to be set up. Rain or shine this is the perfect solution.

We will completely gut the camper insulate the walls and replace them, put in a new floor, build a platform for the air mattress and add some new cabinets for storage. We are not putting the kitchen back, when we had our pop-up we never used the kitchen so no need for one now. We will put in a new fridge. Replace the toilet and sink but will not be putting the shower back. The roof needs to be recoated and the entire camper needs to be recalked and sealed. Then a new paint job will make it look like new. I will post our progress as we go along.

  1. Oh my goodness, what a huge job you're taking on! I love camping, that's all my family did together... I want to start again too and just buy a cheap Coleman tent and call it a day! Can't wait to see all the photos when you're finished, good luck :)

  3. Lori this would be so me lol, I'd like it just like this and keep it in our back yard for a little get away crafting cave. Well, kitchen option as I really hate cooking.

Can't wait to see your progress along the way. Enjoy,Happy Labor Day! Hugs, Lori m
