Mixed Media Scrapbook Page

Happy Sunday,

I hope everyone had a fantastic crafty week. I haven't been doing much in my craft room this week but I did manage to get one project completed.

My boss sent me a picture, via text, of his newest family member. The tan dog (a rescue) who is loving this photo opportunity.

I thought it would be nice to do a scrapbook page for him so he can put it in his office. I didn't just want to do a plain paper page so I decided to try some different mediums. I gessoed over a printed 12x12 scrapbook paper. Then I used stencils  and modeling paste that I colored with acrylic paint to get some texture. Sprayed some Dylusions Ink in black and brown over more stencils to give it some interest. Added some Inka Gold in copper and pewter colors. Sprayed again with some brown Dylusions Ink and then added some yellow acrylic paint with another stencil to try and pull some of the color from the picture. I matted the picture on a printed scrapbook paper after I added the texture with modeling paste and brown acrylic paint and the inka gold. I then added the fibers around the matte (hoping it would look like the trim around a blanket) before adhering it to the 12x12 base. I stamped some paw prints with brown StazOn up the side. Added it to the 12x12 shadow box and called it done. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out.

All Bundled Up

Happy Sunday!

This week I would like to share a quick one page layout that I made using up some of my old stash. The background was a page from an old calendar scrapbook. I added the solid pink  strip bordered with the snowflake trim. I cut a piece of decorative snowflake paper in half and added it to the top. Corner punched the picture and added a matte. Added the stickers and quote and called it done. I didn't do much crafting this past week. Spent time cleaning up my craft room and I was super tired and went to bed early each night. Hope everyone has a super crafty week.

I also made a Valentines Day card for my granddaughter. I stamped the image and used my Spectrum Noir Pencils to color it in. Added some gelli heart stickers and used a corner punch and  attached to the background. Sweet and Simple.

A Few Things To Share

Happy Sunday,

I have a few projects to share.

1st - Journal52 weekly prompt: Television
The Hallmark Channel is my favorite channel. I love watching it when I craft. I decided to do the program line up while I was making this page. For the background I used some gesso and then colored with Derwent Inktense Blocks. I traced out the letters with a stencil and colored them with a Faber Castel black pen. I traced out the tv from a stencil colored the screen with Recollections Metallic Markers and added the photo of the dog. Added the strips of stickers so I could use them as the lines for the programs. Then I traced out the shapes from a stencil and colored them with the Recollections Metallic Markers.

2nd - Reveal You in52 weekly challenge: "Your favorite" and the prompt: "Search the internet". I did not search the internet for the prompt. I used some of the examples that was listed in the description of the challenge. I collaged the background and added some acrylic paint mixed with water and then added some gesso and wiped it off to get a washed out look. Then I used the Inktense blocks to sketch out the flower. Activated it with water to get the smudgy look. Then I did my journailing.

3rd - ATC JAMS

I was the second person on this set. I received them with just the base of the candy box. I added the paper punched hearts and the butterfly I stamped and colored. These will be moving on to the third person.

On this set I was the third person. I added the tag that I staped and then used a paper punch to cut it out, added the dew drop, bead string and charm. I will be sending one to the first person who worked on them, one to the second person who worked on them and keep one for myself.

This set I created. I used my gelli plate to create the background. I then stamped, colored and fussy cut out the flowers and added the grass. This will be moving on to person number two so they can add whatever they would like before moving on to the third person to finish them off.

Until next time... Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Super Busy Crafty Week

Hello,

This week I had a super busy crafty week. I decided to post my projects in one post with a little description of what I did for each one.

FIRST - I have to show my Michaels purchase. I actually did two online orders because I had 3 gift cards and you could only use two gift cards per purchase. It ended up working to my benefit because I got to use an extra 40% coupon plus 30% off your regular priced items and free shipping on each purchase. I'm still waiting for 5 more items to be delivered, hopefully they will come in the next few days. They were just some more white and black pens and more adhesive. I played around with the Glaze pens and really like them.

SECOND -  I made a set of backgrounds for my JAM group. For these I used a piece of cardstock and glued, two metal washers, two dimensional hearts and a cardboard letter on each card. I added foil tape over the top and pushed it around the objects. Then I used a texture roller to make the zipper like texture. I covered the card with black gesso and then wiped it off just leaving enough to look like a patina. Then I added a drop of plum & blue alcohol ink and rubbed it around with a damp paper towel. I think they came out really good. This technique was really fun and I plan to try it again. Now they are off to the middler (second person who will be adding some touches) then moving on to a third person before they make their way back home.

THIRD - Was my week 4 journal page for the DLP. I used Ink Tense Blocks to make the background color. Double stamped over the big flowers. Colored everything in with water color pencils and picked a quote online from an anonymous author.
Art Challenge:  Writing
Journal Prompt:  Words with Friends

FOURTH - Journal Page for Reveal You in52. Theme: "What Makes you Happy & What Makes You Sad" (I still have to fill that in) and the Prompt: Black & White Doodle. For this I just traced some journaling blocks and colored them in with markers and did the doodling around in black. The paper is not completely white but close enough.

FIFTH - Another journal page for Journal 52 group. Theme: Silhouettes. For this page I cut out an image of a girl from a magazine and painted over her with dark blue acrylic paint. When that dried I went over with a dark yellow and then a lighter yellow. For the back ground on the journal I used oil pastels and blended with some water. Glued the silhouette down and outlined it. Stamped some paisley and hearts using different color StazOn ink. Stamped the flowers outlined them with some paint markers and did some doodling. Then I added the quote.

SIXTH - Yet another journal page for Reveal You in52. Question: Common vs Unique (These were a bit private so I covered over my journaling) Prompt: Stamping. Each of the journaling spots were stamped using different shape stamps with lines. I used water color crayon for the background, inka gold, glimmer paint, dot stamps with white ink, and some doodling.

So this was pretty much my week in review. I guess I need to get going on some more projects for next weeks post.
