Thinking of you card....

I made this card for a male recipient who's mom passed away. I didn't want anything to floral or to fussy so I kept it very simple. The inside has the same light green matted with the dark green oval shape where I wrote my condolence message.

Dave started the framing today.

He's doing small sections at a time so the whole thing does not fall over. He has some x bracing inside to hold it together. After the back he has to move onto the front. I thought it would have been easier to take the whole thing apart. He could have reframed  it with all new wood following the old frame as a template, put down a new floor base, add the framing back on then the siding. But what do I know. Whenever I go outside he stops working and tells me to go inside. He tells me I'm holding up progress so I come back inside to avoid any progress holding up : P

My First Attempt At Quilling

I think I need a bit more practice. I have to figure a better way to glue the pieces down and how to get my rolling more unified. I guess that will come with practice. If anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them. Thanks for stopping by.

Set of 4 2 1/2" Halloween Silhouette Cut Outs

Sunflower Card

I printed the sunflower out on white cardstock with my scrapbook factory program. I used stickles glitter glue to color in the sunflower. After it was dry, I cut out the sunflower and added seed beads to the center. I put the sunflower on the small scallop circle cut out and made two small slots on the side of the stem so I could tie the bow using a thin orange ribbon. Then I added the small scallop circle punch to the larger one. For the tag I used a tag punch and a sunflower embossing folder for texture added the circle punch stamped with the sentiment and outlined with a glitter pen held together with a brad. Glued that down to the card and then glued down the scallop circles with the sunflower.

Thanks for looking.

Gutted Out

Next step is to replace some of the rotted framing and reinforce some of the weak areas. Reweld the door and replace the subfloor.

Demolition Started On Our Project

The demolition started. Dave started taking down the walls, insulation, removed pipes and electrical wiring. Still have a long way to go and have to remove the bathroom walls, toilet. He has to seal the vent were the fridge was. We will have to put in new insulation, walls, floor and platform for the bed. Replace the toilet and sink, redo the plumbing and electrical. Install the cabinet. Hopefully this will all be done before camping season starts next year.

Just My Luck!

I seem to have trouble picking good days to go on vacation. Leaving for Cape Cod tomorrow and will be there till Saturday. Lets hope we don't have to leave because of Hurricane Katia. We had to leave our camping trip early last week because of Hurricane Irene.

1979 Sunline 13 1/2RD

We found a new project. After 10 years of not going camping I decided I wanted to start again. Because we had sold our pop-up about 10 years ago with all of our camping equipment we had to start from scratch.  I purchased a tent, air mattress, and a portable grill and off we went. Each time we camped this year it rained. I don't mind camping in the rain because we have a canopy with the screen so that works out ok. But setting up or taking down a tent in the rain is no fun. Not to mention you have to reset it up at home so it could dry out. This is where my little project comes in. We will have a spot to sleep that does not have to be set up. Rain or shine this is the perfect solution.

We will completely gut the camper insulate the walls and replace them, put in a new floor, build a platform for the air mattress and add some new cabinets for storage. We are not putting the kitchen back, when we had our pop-up we never used the kitchen so no need for one now. We will put in a new fridge. Replace the toilet and sink but will not be putting the shower back. The roof needs to be recoated and the entire camper needs to be recalked and sealed. Then a new paint job will make it look like new. I will post our progress as we go along.
